ABU DHABI,Mar 20 (WAM) - Fahad Abdulrahman bin Sultan, Deputy Secretary-General for International Aid at Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), met with Fatlinda Tahiri, President of the Albanian Special Needs Centre in Tirana, along with her accompanying delegation, at the Red Crescent headquarters in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During last week's meeting, which was also attended by Ermal Dredha, Albanian Ambassador to the UAE, there was an explanation of the Red Crescentís contributions to the development, education and health department, and their relief convoys that have been sent to all regions affected by disasters and conflicts.

In his statement, Fahad Abdulrahman bin Sultan said that the Emirates Red Crescent is conducting numerous humanitarian and relief projects in many fraternal and friendly countries around the world. He also extended the welcoming hand of the Red Crescent to help and aid the weak and vulnerable in the Republic of Albania, in co-operation and partnership with all institutions and organisations that are working to offer relief and humanitarian services.

He added that the ERC conducts many projects of this nature in numerous African, Asian and European countries through the foundationís offices throughout the world, or through charity institutions and organisations that are partners of the ERC in these countries. He welcomed the review of humanitarian projects by the Albanian Special Needs Centre in Tirana, which will be launched for the benefit of Albanian children with special needs.

Fatlinda Tahiri also expressed her appreciation to Fahad Abdulrahman bin Sultan and all the foundation officials who welcomed her, while expressing her gratitude in receiving aid and assistance from the Red Crescent to launch the Special Needs Centre project in Tirana, and for its importance and care for vulnerable sectors of Albanian society.
