Att.Editors: The following item is from the Emirates News Agency (WAM)

DUBAI,Sep 13 (WAM) - The 5th Arab Regional Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect (ArabCAN) will be held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), November 19-22 with the contribution of researchers and specialists working in child care and protection from around the world.

The International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) and the Arab Society for the Prevention of Violence against Children (ARAB SPCAN) have announced that Dubai was selected for the first time to host the conference under the theme "From Legislation to Implementation." The event, which is organised by the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), will be held at the Roda Al Bustan Hotel.

The conference's organising committee called on all researchers and specialists in the field to contribute to enriching the conference by submitting their abstracts through the official website with submissions accepted until September 15th.

The conference is expected to witness a high level of decision-makers and public figures at both local and international levels, as well as a high level representation of members of institutions involved in child protection and care, as well as experts and specialists in the field.

The conference will provide a regional and international platform for more than 400 experts and will address the challenges and obstacles facing individuals and institutions in this field.

The theme of the conference will also cover child protection legislation and procedures, best practices in child protection in the Arab region, dealing with child abuse, training and capacity-building, as well as studies and information collected on child abuse. (WAM) (END/2017)
