Att.Editors: The following item is from the Emirates News Agency (WAM)

DUBAI,Nov 30 (WAM) - Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Finance, and Patron of the Al Maktoum Foundation, has affirmed the continuous support of the Al Maktoum Foundation for charity projects in Jordan.

This was stated by Mirza Al Sayegh, Director of the Office of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Member of the Board of Trustees of Al Maktoum Foundation, referring to a number of projects being studied and presented to Sheikh Hamdan.

He stressed the importance of relations between the two countries and the need to strengthen efforts, pointing out that the directives of Sheikh Hamdan support co-operation between the two sides so as to facilitate new works and projects that embody their combined charitable vision.

He said that Sheikh Hamdan affirmed the execution of the MoU signed by Faisal Al Fayez, Chairman of the Jordanian Senate, with the Al Maktoum Foundation last May to establish the Jordanian-Emirati Assistance Committee and a director for the initiative.

According to the MoU, a programme will be implemented to support the fund for families of martyrs of the Jordanian armed forces and security forces, support the development of humanitarian and charitable activities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as enhance efforts to strengthen charity for investment in human resources in both countries.

Under the MoU, the Al Maktoum Foundation will provide 600 sewing machines to the Jordanian Charity Organisation in the coming period to distribute them to a number of charities and families in need and provide raw materials from textiles to these associations and families. (WAM) (END/2017)
