ABU DHABI, June 1 (WAM) - Interior Minister, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, led the United Arab Emirates (UAE) delegation to the 6th consultation meeting of the interior ministers of member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which was held at the GCC Secretariat in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, later Tuesday.

During the meeting, which was chaired by the Bahraini Interior Minister, Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and attended by the interior ministers of the six GCC member states as well as the GCC Secretary General, Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Atiyya, the ministers reviewed current regional and international security developments in the light of the terror phenomenon which the whole world is currently facing.

They reiterated the GCC's commitment to a unified stance against this dangerous phenomenon and their condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and images no matter its source.

They renewed their call for the GCC states to intensify regional and international efforts to fight this danger by facing it squarely at all levels.

They reviewed the level of security cooperation and coordination among their countries in the light of the resolutions issued by the GCC Supreme Council and those issued during the 23rd interior ministerial meeting and expressed satisfaction on the measures taken by member countries.

At the end of meeting, the ministers thanked host Saudi Arabia and its leadership for the warm reception and for ensuring the success of the meeting. (WAM)
